I bought this lipstick because my lips were very dry but I didn't want just a boring clear balm. This is now my go to lip color. I wear it every day. It's a lovely nude with a hint of pink. It really just enhances my natural lip color making my lips look lush and hydrated. I am looking forward to trying to some of the other colors. I absolutely love how hydrating it is. I agree with the other reviewer. The actual color is much more warm toned than the purplish-grey one in the picture. It is a really nice nude that would look good on probably anyone. It's not a nude that looks pale and ashy, it just enhances your real lip tone. I'm in love with this lipstick line. Not sure if I'll try another brand again... I've been eye-ing the Ilia lip conditioners for a while now.. until I was lucky enough to try my friend's "Nobody's Baby." (I normally would NEVER try other people's makeup, but I couldn't resist my excitement haha!)Rating
First I wasn't so interested in this particular color because the picture shown online looks like it has a gray, dark tone to it. But the color in real life is absolutely gorgeous and beautifully neutral. Those of you who are looking for a completely pale, washed-out nude lip color, this is NOT that kind of "nude." It's a very toned-down sheer, glossy pinky, peachy tone that is great for everyday lips. It should look like your natural lip color, but much more enhanced. What really surprised me about this color is its adaptability to any undertone of the skin. (I have quite tanned, warm toned skin whereas my friend has pale skin with a little bit of cool undertone.)
This also does not dry out the lips. I have a jar of RMS Lip2Cheek in "Promise" and while I LOVE using it for my cheeks, I can't use it on my lips without a lip balm. I'm normally not so into lipsticks because it's such a hassle to me to apply lip balm first and then put the lip color on. But Ilia lip conditioner is like lipstick + lip balm + lip gloss because it leaves my lips a gorgeous sheen. I can't wait to have this for myself!!! (Posted on 8/31/11)
