Expensive and Not Worth it (Sorry) Review by Patti

I like that ILIA makes non-toxic products, packing is upscale-looking, and think they are a good company. However, I was disappointed in this product and would not buy it again. After speaking to customer service, I expected this product to wear longer on my lips. The color is pretty, but it barely lasts; I felt like it slid right off my lips almost as soon as I applied it. I realize it is not a lipstick, but even lip balms last longer than that! I know of many other non-toxic lip colors available that perform better for less money. I'd love to see ILIA create a true lipstick that lasts -- that I would buy.

For background - ILIA are a young, founder owned brand - so when they launched they only offered the option of the lip tint. However, they have just introduced an new lipstick collection which has a much more intense color and is longer lasting than the lip conditioner / tint - the closest match to your original choice would be 'femme fetale'. I purchased this when I was in store last week. I had been reading about it and was excited to try it for myself. First off I love how the color deepens the more you apply it then fades to a stain over time. It leave my lips extremely soft and as my husband put it, extremely "kissable"!! This is such a beautiful color! The actual color is less purple than the one on my computer. It is a buildable berry shade and looks gorgeous on. I have fair skin, light eyes, and brown hair and it suits my complexion very well. This is the best line of lipstick and I love that it's non-toxic. I have Shell Shock and Nobody's Baby and they are lovely as well, it's hard to pick a favorite. I feel like the colors is this line would look good on most complexions and it's nice that they are moisturizing, glossy, and buildable. I'll have to try Blossom Lady next. (Posted on 10/5/11)

When we discovered ILIA, I really liked the great colors and I thought the aluminum tube was really upscale - and then... I applied it to my lips.....Well - what an experience! The loveliest, creamiest, smoothest lip color I have EVER used. It also smells like you should eat it....an absolute star product....plus, the color intensifies as you apply more, so you can have a creamy, light gloss of color, or a more intense vibe as you apply more. Once you try it you may never use anything else! PS I found this color is fantastic for me as I have dark hair with red undertones and quite a pale complexion. (Posted on 5/25/11)
